AI program: Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of SMEs

03.06.2021

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a key technology for the future of companies.

We will help you make the first steps towards that future. As the driving force behind digital transformation in the tri-national Basel Area, we are hosting the collaborative AI program.

Goal:

The goal of the AI program is to help SMEs learn more about artificial intelligence and implement it in a practical way to optimize efficiency and productivity in the industry. Together with the companies, we identify possible use cases for your company, move from an abstract concept to a concrete solution and implement it. That way, the industry makes the most of a valuable tool that can help them grow and develop new products and services that meet future needs.

Progress and timeline:

Phase 1: April 2021 – July 2021

We are currently working with 22 companies and teams from Northwest Switzerland, Baden and Region Grand Est. Our focus is on team building, sharing experiences and challenges that we want to overcome.

Phase 2: July 2021 – February 2022

We focus on available online machine data and valuable use cases that will lead to the first proof of concept.

Phase 3: November 2021 – December 2022

We focus on programming and optimization which will lead to the second and third proof of concept.

Phase 4: start in 2023

We will work on the business model which will lead to the fourth proof of concept.

Partner information:

Together with the Industrial Transformation team from Basel Area Business & Innovation, the project is supported by the Swiss Confederation in the framework of the New Regional Policy (NRP) and the Canton Basel-Landschaft. We are working together with Grand E-Nov+, l’Agence d’Innovation et de Prospection Internationale du Grand Est from Alsace und ARNOLD IT Systems GmbH and the CyberForum from Germany.

Topics:

Our project teams are working on all aspects of user (data or machine provider), sensors, cybersecurity, data storage (cloud), analysis, learning process, and results. Further, we will cover topics such as predictive maintenance and quality control.

The companies in the AI program
