Botanikind settles in Basel

The internationally active Swiss company Botanikind has settled in Basel and established Botanikind AG there. It provides natural ingredients for food and drink production.

Botanikind is pooling its European activities in its newly established headquarters in Basel. Botanikind AG was founded for this purpose will additionally coordinate global commercial activities and develop new innovations from its location in Basel. Botanikind was supported in settling by Basel Area Business & Innovation.
Botanikind has its operating headquarters in Shanghai and has established a vertically integrated supply chain in China. This means natural ingredients can be obtained directly from farmers for the food, drink and supplement industries. In doing so the company ensures quality and transparency between producers and consumers. The direct, simple supply chain additionally lowers costs. In China, the company sources from a broad range of natural raw materials and benefits from modern technologies.
Botanikind is proactively pursuing a decentralized structure in order to be as close to its customers as possible. The company sees Basel as the ideal location for its European headquarters as it is situated centrally and has great innovation potential due to the life sciences companies that are resident there. A team will now be established in Basel to make and implement strategic decisions for the European market. Furthermore, the company plans to open its own laboratory in Basel in the coming year. The proximity to life sciences companies is additionally important to Botanikind because the products it markets can also be used in supplements with health benefits.
