Getec Park in Muttenz in the canton of Basel-Landschaft is the new home of the Indian chemicals firm RN Laboratories. The global company is planning to expand its European presence from this location. For this, RN Laboratories will find suitable infrastructure at Getec Park, where it plans to build a manufacturing and warehousing facility across 2,000 square meters. The investment and innovation promotion agency Basel Area Business & Innovation has supported RN Laboratories during the process of establishing its business in the region.
According to a press release issued by Getec Park, RN Laboratories is the global market leader for the substance chlorhexidine. The company manufactures this agent in India and the USA, in addition to supplying it to more than 100 countries around the world. The antimicrobial agent is, for example, used in dentistry and as a skin disinfectant. Firms operating in the life sciences sector will also be served from the Muttenz base. The new production facility will offer capacity of 10,000 tons per year, while in terms of transportation RN Laboratories will benefit from ideal infrastructure with delivery routes by road, rail and water.
Founded in 1996, the company has already commenced construction of the new production and storage facility with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony. Once complete, the facility will allow RN Laboratories to realize efficient production processes in tandem with the highest levels of quality. To this end, RN Laboratories will employ eight staff members.
