The Digital Accelerator Basel is an exclusive program run by Basel Area Business & Innovation that helps early-stage tech startups fast-track their growth. Each year, the selected ventures work closely with experts, investors and corporate partners to validate their business models, build traction, and prepare for investment or industry collaboration.
Unlike traditional accelerators, this program is deliberately selective — just one theme and a handful of startups per year. This focus allows for deeper engagement, customized mentoring, and hands-on work with corporate and academic partners in Europe’s most concentrated innovation ecosystem.
The program targets startups in digital technology, AI, data analytics and related fields that have early prototypes or proof-of-concepts and are ready to test their solutions with real customers. It’s ideal for founders seeking targeted coaching rather than a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
Selected startups receive tailored coaching, access to investors and corporate partners, proof-of-concept opportunities, and visibility across the Basel Area innovation ecosystem. The program helps founders refine pricing models, navigate IP challenges, and position their ventures for scale and follow-on funding.
Graduating startups gain entry to the broader Launch ecosystem — including other accelerators, mentoring programs and partner networks in life sciences and industrial innovation. This creates ongoing visibility and collaboration opportunities even after the accelerator ends.
Applications open annually through the Basel Area Business & Innovation website. Startups submit a short proposal outlining their product, team and market potential. The selection committee evaluates applications based on innovation, scalability and alignment with the annual program theme.
