Alentis Therapeutics, one of our BaseLaunch alumni companies and a resident at Main Campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area, cemented its status as a rising star in the industry by closing out the biggest funding round in Switzerland of 2024. 

In 2024, the Botnar Institute of Immune Engineering (BIIE) selected the Basel Area ahead of many strong competitors as the home for its independent research endeavors, which aims to develop novel immune-based diagnostics and therapeutics to improve the health of children and young people worldwide. Initially hosted by the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) at ETH Zurich in Basel, the BIIE plans to relocate to a new state-of-the-art facility at the Main Campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area by 2027. This strategic move underscores the Basel Area’s prominence as a leading life sciences hub. 

As an innovator in liquid biopsy technology, Senseera joined the DayOne Health 4.0 Accelerator to refine its market strategy and expand its industry connections. With its GEM BIOMARKERS platform offering a groundbreaking approach to biomarker discovery and precision medicine, Senseera sought to engage with leading pharmaceutical companies and healthcare stakeholders. 

Through tailored mentorship, strategic workshops, and direct access to an extensive industry network, our program provided critical support in shaping their value proposition and accelerating high-impact collaborations. Senseera leveraged this opportunity to strengthen its positioning in the healthcare innovation ecosystem and advance its mission of transforming precision medicine. 

When Seingim, one of Italy’s leading multidisciplinary engineering firms, set its sights on international growth, Switzerland became a key part of its strategy. We played a pivotal role in facilitating their expansion, providing hands-on support with stakeholder engagement and essential insights into the city business community. Through tailored guidance and consultancy, Seingim was able to navigate the settlement process with confidence. 

As a leader in robotics and automation for the life sciences, UK Robotics sought a strategic location to expand its European presence. We provided support, guiding the company through the setup process in the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area – Jura. Our i4Challenge program provided exactly that—offering structured coaching, valuable industry connections, and a rigorous feedback process that helped them accelerate their growth. With tailored mentorship and exposure to potential partners in Switzerland and France, the program gave Data Coffee the strategic direction and market access it needed.

With our dedicated support, they successfully navigated the settlement process, gaining prime office space, key ecosystem insights, and valuable introductions to industry stakeholders. Our expert guidance ensured seamless and efficient integration into the Basel Area’s life sciences community. 

As an early-stage company, Novonexile sought expert guidance to refine its investor pitch and strategic direction. Through Basel Area Business & Innovation’s Venture Mentoring service, the company connected with an experienced investor, who provided detailed feedback on their pitch deck, development strategy, financial projections and market access plans. 

The mentoring session helped Novonexile sharpen its investor argumentation, identify key areas for improvement, and gain a clearer understanding of realistic next steps toward securing seed funding. The insightful advice and direct feedback offered a valuable foundation for strengthening their investment readiness and company positioning.
