Clinical trials remain one of the most complex and resource-intensive stages of drug development. From protocol design and site activation to patient recruitment and ongoing study management, many processes are still fragmented, manual and difficult to scale – leading to extended timelines and increasing operational burden.

Recent advances in agentic AI – systems capable of autonomously executing and coordinating tasks across workflows – raise an important question: where can these technologies meaningfully reduce complexity in clinical trials? While the potential is widely discussed, there is still limited clarity on where agentic AI can deliver tangible value today, and what it takes to deploy it within a regulated environment.

This Open Mic will explore how agentic AI is being applied across the clinical trial lifecycle, bringing together perspectives from pharma, startups, academia and technology. What parts of clinical trials are most “automation-ready” vs. fundamentally human? Will agentic AI simplify trials – or introduce a new layer of complexity? The discussion will focus on practical use cases, key challenges such as data quality, governance and validation, and what is required to move from experimentation to real-world implementation.

Join us to gain insights from across the ecosystem on how agentic AI can drive impact in clinical trials – and what it will take to turn potential into practice.

Participation is free; however, registration is required by May 7.
