Five startups in the TOP 100 ranking come from the Basel Area, a flourishing region for startups in the fields of biotech, medtech, and healthtech. The biotech startup FimmCyte from the portfolio of the accelerator and incubator BaseLaunch with headquarters at Tech Park Basel came in 28th place. Noema Pharma, another biotech company from Basel, took 41st place. The biotech startup Perseo Pharma from Muttenz in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, came in 64th position. It was followed by Bottneuro in 82nd, a medtech company with headquarters on the site Novartis campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area. Synendos Therapeutics, another Basel-based biotech startup from BaseLaunch’s portfolio, was named as the 96th company.

Two scaleups among the most promising in Switzerland

The scaleups included two biotech companies based in Basel: EraCal Therapeutics and TOLREMO Therapeutics. TOLREMO also forms part of BaseLaunch’s portfolio.

This year, the TOP 100 Magazine was once more published in parallel with the announcement and presentation of the awards. This issue features the main campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area. The magazine additionally states that 87 startups that have featured in the TOP 100 ranking since 2011 have managed an exit and been acquired by large companies.

A particular mention in this regard is given to T3 Pharma from Allschwil in the canton of Basel-Landschaft. This biotech company was taken on by Boehringer Ingelheim for 450 million Swiss francs in 2023. T3 Pharma is also part of BaseLaunch’s portfolio and is located on the Main Campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area.
